Detangle damp with your fingers or a wide-tooth comb, always starting at the ends, because a tight curl tangles faster than a loose one if you rush it.
Because this texture is steam-set, keep direct heat low and infrequent. Keep it hydrated with a light leave-in on the mid-lengths; heavy butters and waxes clump a tight curl and dull the definition. Store loosely braided in a satin bag between installs so the pattern holds.

Length & Fit
This is a tight curl, so shrinkage is significant. Expect it to wear roughly 35% to 40% shorter than its measured length. A 24" bundle will sit closer to 14" to 16" on you. That is what a defined coil-curl does, not a short bundle, and it is the number one thing women get wrong when they order this texture.
The rule of thumb: order two sizes up from your finished length. Mid-back finished means 26" to 28", not 20". For a full head, this texture's density means you may need slightly fewer bundles than a looser texture, but plan on four to six depending on your style and confirm the count with your stylist before you order, since every braider works differently.
